20 abducted JIBWIS members regain freedom

The Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa’ikamatis Sunnah, JIBWIS, popularly known as Izala, has confirmed the release of 20 members of its first aid group that were kidnapped on December 23 in Jibiya, Katsina State.

The national chairman Ulama Council of the group, Sani Jingir, disclosed this during a press conference in Jos on Sunday.

He explained that the victims were released at about 2am on Saturday in Dauran town of Zurmi Local Government Area of Zamfara State.


p dir=”ltr”>“We are happy to inform you that all the 20 members of the first aid group were yesterday (Saturday) night released in good condition of health,” he said..


p dir=”ltr”>According to him, they were released unconditionally by the kidnappers and ” were returned to the exact location where they were kidnapped”.


p dir=”ltr”>“Because we have prayed and pleaded with the kidnappers that we don’t have gun to fight them, and the first aid men are masses who don’t have money to give to the kidnappers, so they should fear Allah to release them.”


p dir=”ltr”>He commended President Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Aminu Tambuwal, the SSS, police and others for their concerned and efforts when the calamity occurred.


p dir=”ltr”>Mr Jingir urged the Government to intensify efforts at restrengthening and equipping the nation’s security for better performance.


p dir=”ltr”>“I urge all Nigerian citizens to support the security agencies because security is the business of everybody,” he urge.

On December 31, the religious group announced the abduction of its 20 members while on their way back to Sokoto after attending first aid camp in Dutse, Jigawa State.
